Nnewi - MOVEMENT for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) said it has uncovered plans to eliminate its leader Chief Ralph Uwazurike. In a statement signed by its Deputy Director of Information , Mr. Uchenna Madu, copied to European Union, African Union, World Council of Churches, Amnesty International and United Nations Secretariat, MASSOB alleged that the Federal Government has directed the amendment of treasonable aspect of Nigerian constitution to nail Uwazurike when arrested for his activities in MASSOB.03/10/2004

There was a mild drama at Oko-Ita, Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State as members of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) attempted to smuggle the casket of General Phillip Effiong before the interment of the former Biafran leader. Vanguard reports that members of MASSOB numbering about 1,000 had earlier been led into the venue of the burial of late Effiong, the man that announced the end to the Nigerian civil war in 1970 and second in command to General Odumegwu Ojukwu.03/01/2004
