ASARI Dokubo made what looked every inch a triumphal entry into Port Harcourt, the capital city of Rivers State early in October, 2004. The people of the state came out in large numbers to cheer him as he made several stops in strategic spots in the metropolis to spread the news of the newfound "peace" settlement between him and the Federal authorities after a historic, heady parley in the State House, Abuja.

Kaduna - IMO indigenes in Kaduna State have commended Governor Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi for maintaining peace between Christians and Moslems in the state. The people commended Governor Makarfi against the backdrop of Sunday's successful procession by Catholic faithfuls to mark the All Saints Day. Earlier attempts to commemorate the event had not been successful in the last four years because of religious crisis.

opinion An Igbo president must be voted in 2007. JUSTICE, fairness, equity, and democracy are the basic properties that sustain the stability of political systems. Nigeria cannot be an exception to this rule. Therefore, Nigeria will be guilty of not practising these political virtues, she will, in fact, be exposing herself to the risk of chronic instability, if Ndigbo are denied the presidency in 2007. There are many reasons why Ndigbo are the most deserving of the presidency in 2007.

While indulging in a debatable ego-massaging the president claimed that "... the implementation of government deregulation policy has fulfilled its objectivity of ensuring products availability and the opening up of all segments of the downstream of the oil industry to competition."
