Lagos - A Federal High Court in Lagos, presided over by Justice Marcel Awoku-lehin, yesterday, fixed June 14, for hearing in an application brought by detained members of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), asking the court to quash the treasonable charge preferred against them by the Federal Government.

Asaba - One of the two members of the Movement for the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), arrested by men of the State Security Service (SSS) for allegedly hoisting Biafran flag at a church premises in Asaba, last Sunday, has been sentenced to two weeks imprisonment by an Asaba Chief Magistrate's court.

Asaba - MEN of the State Security Service (SSS) have arrested two suspected members of the Movement For The Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) for allegedly hoisting Biafran flags in Asaba. They were picked up on Sunday morning at the premises of St Patrick's Catholic Church at Cable Point Asaba where they had gone to celebrate a thanksgiving service to mark the 38th year anniversary of the day the Republic of Biafra was purportedly declared by the then Biafran leader, Chief Odumegwu Ojukwu.

The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), has concluded arrangements to celebrate its fifth Freedom Anniversary tomorrow. Mr. Callistus Eze, Area administrator, Area 'F' Mushin , who briefed journalists in Lagos, said that the movement is using the occasion to call on Ndigbo within and in the diaspora, to attend church service as part of the celebration.

Onitsha - Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), has raised alarm over an alleged plot by the Federal Government to assassinate key members of the group. In a statement made available to Daily Champion the group's director of Information, Comrade Uchenna Madu, alleged the plot was being hatched by top government officials in alliance with some retired generals.

Lagos - The controversy surrounding allegations of the ownership of foreign accounts which is now the subject of investigating Governor Orji Kalu of Abia State and two others by the Code of Conduct Bureau has compelled a political pressure group, the Igbo Question Movement (IQM) to urge President Olusegun Obasanjo to "leave Kalu alone".

Abakaliki - FOUR women and two juveniles, Tochukwu Owuru (15) and Chukwuma Ani (16) were among 80 suspected members of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) remanded in prison custody yesterday by an Abakaliki Chief Magistrate's Court.
