Awka - ANAMBRA State Director of State Security Service [ SSS] , Alhaji Ibrahim Audu says the Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra [MASSOB] is being sustained and funded from Onitsah, the commercial city of Anambra State, through illegal extortions from the people. Audu blamed the elite in the State for keeping quiet while illegal acts and other criminal tendencies thrive.

Lagos - A FEDERAL High Court sitting in Lagos, presided over by Justice Marcel Owokulehin yesterday quashed the charge of conspiracy and treason preferred against 53 suspected members of the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB).

Lagos - Fifty Three members of the Movement for the Actualiz-ation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), who were on March 22 arraigned before a Federal High Court, Lagos, were yesterday acquitted of treason. Trial Judge, Justice Marcel Awokulehin, while ruling on the application brought by the accused, asking the court to quash the three - count charge of conspiracy to commit treason, treason and belonging to an unlawful society, preffered against them by the Federal Government, held that the prosecution failed to establish a prima facie case of treason against the accused.
