Awka - A team of policemen from Abuja has arrested over 200 people they claim to be members of the Movement for the Actualization of the Soveregn State of Biafra (MASSOB). But in a swift reaction relatives of the people arrested, market leaders and a legislator from Onitsha dismissed the police claim, saying most of those arrested were not MASSOB members but traders and other people picked indiscriminately.05/25/2006

Abuja - A Federal high court sitting in Abuja yesterday granted the request of the detained leader of Niger Delta Peoples Volunteers Force, Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari for stay of proceedings in his trial. Enugu - IKEMBA Nnewi, Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, yesterday indicated his interest to challenge at the Supreme Court the decision of the Court of Appeal over his face-off with the State Security Service (SSS) in 2004. Ojukwu said in a telephone interview in Enugu that he was not satisfied with last week's ruling of the appellate court on the matter for the enforcement of his fundamental human right and has therefore asked his lawyer to challenge it at the highest court of the land.
