Owerri - Leadership of Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), has demanded immediate trial of about 55 Igbo youth, detained by the Anambra State Police Command in Awka, since June. The group also has assured its teeming followers that having received passmark for non-violence from United Nations (UN) in 2005; that her independence had been assured in the life span of this present administration of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.

Enugu - From Francis Ugwoke No fewer than 15 different Nigerian-Biafran war time bombs have been exhibited by the Enugu State Police Command. The bombs, some of which are still live and deadly, according to the Police were dug up from various locations in the state.

Enugu - THIRTEEN unexploded bombs believed to have been abandoned during the civil war in various parts of Enugu State have been recovered by the anti-bomb unit of the Nigeria Police in Enugu, which described the discovery of the explosives as shocking.

A prominent Onitsha based landlord, Chief Godwin Ifeatu Ezeanochie and others now at large have been arraigned before an Onitsha Chief Magistrate Court presided over by Dr. R. N. Okoye for murder. The others on the run are said to be members of the banned Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB).

Awka - IMMEDIATE past governor of Anambra State, Dr. Chris Ngige, denied, weekend, that he ever sponsored the activities of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB). In a statement signed by his Media Consultant, Fred Chukwulobe, Dr. Ngige said: "The attention of His Excellency, Dr. Chris Nwabueze Ngige (OON, KSJI), immediate past Governor of Anambra State has been drawn to certain statements credited to His Excellency, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo (GCFR), President, Federal Republic of Nigeria during his recent official visit to Anambra and widely reported in the various print and electronic media, alleging that the Anambra Sate Government under Dr Ngige sponsored activities of the Movement For The Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) and that he used the Anambra State Vigilante Service (AVS) for selfish purposes.

opinion FEW months after the titanic batt1es that restored his diverted mandate, Anambra State governor, Peter Obi, is faced with another political test tasking his leadership skills. This is not about MASSOB's separatist adventures or NARTO's rent escapades at motor parks. opinion Lagos - Honestly, when the incumbent Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi was declared March 15, by the court of Appeal that sat in Enugu as the truly elected governor of the state, many people received the verdict with mixed feelings.
