Lagos - A group under the name of Coalition for the Freedom of Dokubo and Uwazuruike (COFDU), has called on the federal government to immediate and unconditional release detained leader of the Niger Delta Volunteer Force (NNVF) Alhaji Mujahaid Dokubo and his Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Chief Raph Uwazuruike in the interest of peace and social justice in the country.

Lagos - MOVEMENT for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) yesterday in Lagos in a peaceful protest demanded for the unconditional release of its detained leader, Chief Ralph Uwuzuruike. The peaceful protest march which involved over 5,000 members of the group started at Mushin with a stop over at Minaj Television Station Ladipo Mushin, saw the group marching through major streets in the area.

Abuja - Apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, yesterday in Abuja called for the immediate and unconditional release of detained leader of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Chief Ralph Uwazuruike.

Lagos - Founder of Oodua Peoples Congress ( OPC), Dr. Frederick Fasehun, has alleged that many politicians have been stockpiling arms and ammunition in preparation for the April elections. Dr. Fasehun, who stated this at a press briefing in Lagos, said that the politicians are stockpiling arms to intimidate their opponents in the next month's election.

Awka - TWO foreigners and a Nigerian were, on Saturday, abducted in Nnewi, Anambra State by yet-to-be identified people. It is the latest in the recent cases of kidnapping in the state. Also on Saturday, two persons were killed in a clash between two rival cult groups in Port Harcourt.

Lagos - THISDAY polls are in two parts. One, we have a poll of randomly selected sample population of 3,700 respondents nationwide. 100 respondents were selected each of the 36 states and Abuja. Lagos - Lagos A group has said that the Federal Government may have refused to heed to public outcry over the detention of Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, leader of the Movement for the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), and Chief Mujahid Asari Dokubo of the Niger Delta Volunteer Force (NDVF), because both of them represent the genuine desires and aspirations of their people.

Awka - Anambra State Police Command says it has arrested seven suspected kidnappers and they are presently undergoing interrogation at the Police headquarters. The police says that the kidnappers have resorted to laying siege in and around churches to kidnap rich members of the various churches.

Enugu - THE Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), yesterday, dissociated itself from the Sit-At-Home purportedly being planned in conjunction with the Movement for the Emancipation of Niger Delta (MEND) for the burial of 200 MASSOB members allegedly killed from 2003 to 2006.

Enugu - FEDERAL high court judge Olayinka Faji, sitting in Enugu, yesterday set free eight Movement for Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) members incarcerated more than six months ago. They had been charged with treasonable felony and vandalism.
