Since the aftermath of the Nigerian-Biafra civil war of May 30, 1967 to January 15, 1970, several Ndigbos believe that certain policies had been constituted by other ethnicities to ensure that Ndigbos remain marginalized, undeveloped and disadvantaged to the level of second class citizens.

Lagos - Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA), a development focused Non-governmental Organization, yesterday warned the Movement for the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) that its threat to strip the founding National Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Chekwas Okorie, naked in a public function in the South East will amount to gross abuse of the human rights of the politician.

Owerri - The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has said that its recent threat to strip Chief Chekwas Okorie naked at any private or public function in Igboland, without inflicting physical injury on him, is still subsisting.
