Among the OPEC countries, Nigeria is the least enterprising in the management of oil revenue. In Africa, Libya, Angola and Sudan have utilised their oil revenue better than Nigeria.

Abuja - Hassan Saleh is the out- going Director of the Custom, Immigration and Prison Pension Office (CIPO). In this interview, he said that government released a supplementary budget of N8.7 billion to pay the pensioners. He also said that since he assumes office January 17, 2008, pensioners now get paid on or before 25th of every month.

Steinar, who says: "I'm so hurt because his remarks demean the hopes of a nation stagnated by terminal gross financial mismanagement. How exactly will this project benefit the people of Kenya and Kogelo, when not even drugs and staff, decent beds, blankets, toilets nor meals are available for patients at local health centres?"

In a recent article where I expressed concern and revulsion at the growing menace of kidnappings and abductions in Kaduna, I, in passing, noted that my sentimental attachment to this cosmopolitan city is rooted in the fact that it is my place of birth. As a child growing up in the city before the unfortunate Nigeria-Biafra war, Kaduna was great in all its ramifications. It was a meeting point of various heterogonous groups, coming from different corners of the country.

When Odumegwu Ojukwu sneezes, the nation catches cold. That is to be expected. General Ojukwu showed his paces in war. He led one of the most famous wars of the late 20th century. General Ojukwu led the people of the former Eastern Nigeria with its majority Igbo population in a war in self-defence when they became targets of a genocidal rage.

Lagos - Chuka Obele was the Secretary of the Action Committee of Nigeria, JACON, then headed by Chief Gani Fawehinmi .He was the ex Publicity Secretary of Nigeria Bar Association,Onitsha branch and then its Vice Chairman.He later became the Acting Chairman and subsequently the Chairman .He was known to be very vocal both during the military and civilian era as depicted in this interview.
